Vintage Roger Tory Peterson “Birds of Our Land” 1954 Print — House Wren

A wonderful vintage Roger Tory Peterson bird print from the Birds of Our Land series, originally produced in 1954 for John Morrell & Co.

Roger Tory Peterson (1908–1996) was one of America’s most influential ornithologists, naturalists, and bird artists. His revolutionary field guides changed the way generations of people identified and appreciated birds.
The Birds of Our Land series was created as a set of 12 paintings, featuring familiar American birds in approachable, homey settings. These 1954 John Morrell & Co. prints have become popular as vintage natural-history and Americana décor.
