A fabulous pair of vintage I. Godinger 1855 Émail de Limoges decorative plates featuring beautifully illustrated palm trees, colorful geometric borders and royal heraldic crests.
These are two different designs from the same palm-tree series:
- “To His Royal Highness The Marquis of Essex”
- “To His Grace The Duke of Coventry”
Each plate features a different palm tree and coat of arms, making them especially fun displayed together as a collected pair.
The reverse is marked “1855 Émail de Limoges — décoré à la main à S. Marino — I. Godinger.”
Approximately 7½” diameter.
Circa 1990s
Excellent condition. No chips or cracks.
Perfect as decorative kitchen or dining room wall plates, displayed on plate stands, or incorporated into a collection of botanical, travel or tropical-inspired vintage decor.
