Vintage Couroc of Monterey Fisherman’s Wharf Fish Market Tray Wood Brass Inlay 1

$42.00Price

A wonderful mid-century Couroc of Monterey serving tray featuring a charming hand-inlaid fish market scene on Couroc’s signature black phenolic resin.

The detailed waterfront scene is beautifully crafted with natural wood veneers and brass accents, including fish-market buildings, a tiny wooden ladder, and other delightful pier-side details. The combination of wood grain, brass, and the deep black background makes this a particularly fun example of Couroc’s distinctive mid-century design.

Couroc pieces were made in Monterey, California, beginning in the late 1940s and became known for their artistic hand-inlaid designs using wood, metal, shells and other materials set into their durable black resin.
